Points will be awarded as follows:

Tournament Rules
1. Number of players
- 1.1. A maximum of 8 players can compete for a single team in each match.
- 1.2. A minimum of 6 players are required for a single team to compete in a match.
- 1.3. All players in a single team must be registered to play Cricket for that team at the Sydney Sikh Games 2012.
- 1.4. Each team may have a maximum of 15 registered players in their squad.
- 1.5. No player can play for more than one team.
2. Start of Match
- 2.1. Each match will be scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes, in which both teams must complete the required overs.
- 2.2. Failure to complete the match in the required time will result in either or both teams penalised with a maximum of 1 point deduction. The penalty to be decided by the official umpire for that match.
- 2.3. Failure to have at least 6 players in a single team at least 10 minutes before the start of a match will result in immediate forfeiture by that team
- 2.4. The toss will occur 5 minutes before start of the match.
- 2.5. Each team sheet must complete a team sheet and provide this to the official umpire prior to the toss taking place. Failure to provide the umpire a team sheet at the request of the umpire may result in forfeiture.
- 2.6. Only the opposing captain in a match can request to see the team sheet for the opposing side from the official umpire.
3. Duration of a match
- 3.1. Each match will be scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes, in which both teams must complete the required overs.
- 3.2. If a match exceeds the designated time, either or both teams may be penalised with a maximum of 1 point deduction, or as officials deem fit.
4. Number of overs
- 4.1. Each match is to consist of 8 overs per each team's innings.
- 4.2. For a team of 8 players, each player must bowl one over except for the wicket keeper. If the wicket keeper does not bowl, the bowling captain may choose a bowler to bowl a second over at any time.
- 4.3. For a team of 7 players, each player must bowl one over except for the wicket keeper. The Batting captain will choose one bowler to bowl a second over at the end of the innings. If the wicket keeper does not bowl, the Bowling captain may choose a bowler to bowl a second over at any time.
- 4.4. For a team of 6 players, each player must bowl one over except for the wicket keeper. The Batting captain will choose two bowlers to bowl a second over at the end of the innings. If the wicket keeper does not bowl, the Bowling captain may choose a bowler to bowl a second over at any time.
5. Extras (No balls and Wides)
- 5.1. A 'No Ball' or 'Wide Ball' delivery will result in 4 Runs. However the ball will not be required to be re-bowled, except in the final over.
- 5.2. Each no ball or wide is to be re-bowled only in the eighth (8th) over.
- 5.3. A delivery will result in a 'No Ball' in either of the following circumstances:
- 5.3.1. No part of the bowler's front foot is behind the line;
- 5.3.2. A Full Toss delivery above the hip, irrespective of spin or pace bowling;
- 5.3.3. A bowler is allowed one bouncer an over. A second bouncer will result in a 'No Ball'; or
- 5.3.4. A ball is deemed a bouncer if the ball passes above the shoulder of a batsman but below head height.
- 5.4. A delivery will result in a 'Wide Ball' in either of the following circumstances:
- 5.4.1. The delivery passing down the leg side.
- 5.4.2. A short pitched delivery that rises above the head of the batsman
- 5.4.3. The umpire deems a delivery passing outside the off-stump as 'wide'.
6. Batting
- 6.1. A batsman must retire after reaching 30 runs.
- 6.2. A retiring batsman may return at the end of an innings if all other players are out.
- 6.3. A batsman may retire injured or otherwise.
- 6.4. A runner may be allowed only at the discretion of the umpire.
- 6.5. A batsman who retires without injury or reaching 30 runs cannot return to bat.
- 6.6. Last man carries.
7. Points
- Refer to the section on Tournament Format for points the scoring system.
8. Tied Match
- If there is a Tied result, the team with a greater aggregate will be awarded the win.
- Aggregate = Total runs scored in the match / Total number of wickets lost in match
9. Forfeits
- 9.1. Failure to have at least 6 players in a single team at least 10 minutes before the start of a match will result in immediate forfeiture by that team
- 9.2. Any verbal or physical abuse of any Umpire by any player may result in the immediate forfeiture of the match by the offending team and the result recorded.
- 9.3. Failure to provide the umpire a team sheet at the request of the umpire may result in forfeiture.
- 9.4. The non-forfeiting team will be awarded a win for that match.
10. Clothing
- 10.1. Pants: all participating players must wear white trousers during a game
- 10.2. Shirts: all players are to wear a white or team shirt.
11. Team Equipment
- 11.1. All teams are to provide their own equipment (bats, pads and all other protective gear).
- 11.2. Only Stumps and ball will be provided by the umpires.
12. Fielding restrictions
- 12.1. There are no other fielding restrictions.
13. Other Rules, Regulations and Code of Conduct
- 13.1. All the other applicable rules will be enforced by umpires as per international standard (ICC Rules for Cricket).
- 13.2. The Organising Committee shall have the authority to appoint suitably qualified Umpires to officiate at all matches.
- 13.3. Any verbal or physical abuse of any Umpire by any player may result in the immediate forfeiture of the match by the offending team and the result recorded.
- 13.4. Any disruption of a match by any team may result in the team being disqualified. Severity of the consequences as deemed by the Organising Committee.
- 13.5. Any breach of any By-Law by any participant may be liable to the imposition of Forfeiture and recorded.
- 13.6. The Sports Coordinator may vary the rules to accommodate the time constraint of the tournament (e.g. length of matches, playing times, interval between matches).
- 13.7. The Umpire's decision is final.
- 13.8. Any appeals or disputes must be lodged in accordance with the ANSSACC general championship rules, terms and conditions.
- 13.9. Because of the time constraint of the tournament and the limited number of playing fields, participants will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
